Name Changes
Traditionally, the wife takes the husband's name at the time of marriage...but that's only a tradition! There is no rule or law stating that a wife must take the husband's name.

Rev. Chris has officiated at weddings where there was no name change, where a hyphenated name was created, and even at weddings where the husband took the wife's last name. It's all a matter of personal preference! Keep in mind, though, if you're thinking about children in the future...when the father is listed on the birth certificate, the child generally is given the father's last name.
